"The Artist's Corner..."

Matthew Lisk

What I Like About This: Here is an untitled work by Detroit artist, Matthew Lisk. I like that this work intrigues me on many levels.  I like the artist's technique of blurring and softening the details of the scene, which to my mind draws you in for closer inspection.  The work offers many points of interest... leading you to ask yourself, What type of work scene is this, are they on a construction site? Is it an airport, is that a plane in the background? Are they working newly poured concrete?  and of course, What type of lives do these men live outside of work? This piece provokes all those questions and I think that is the mark of a true work of art, it should make you think and wonder.
