The Funny Truth About Marriage..."

Yep, this is a real married couples thing...

My husband rarely drives both of us anywhere; that's my job. But once a year during the second week of May he always drives us to the nursery in his pickup truck to shop for the summer annuals. The nursery is about 40 miles from home and over the years I've learned to just close my eyes and pray.

😕😕😕

"The Views From Home..."

Our Holiday Home
It doesn't look like we're going to have a white Christmas this year despite all the snow we've had since early November, but that doesn't stop Husband's holiday home decorating

All of the pots are beautifully illuminated...
I'll post some night photos as soon as we get some fresh snow as a backdrop

If the weatherman is to be believed, next week there might be a day or two warm enough to sit in the garden for a few minutes and enjoy the crisp winter air

I couldn't grab my camera fast enough, but one of the feral kitties in the neighborhood was on this bench reaching up to check out the berries on the wreath

Of course it's just as festive inside... a few snaps of the indoor decor tomorrow

Until then, Merry Christmas from our home in the woods

Some views from the Summer Garden on Broadstreet

Husband spends hours out here enjoying the fruits of our labors

I work long hours from an office at home...
but these are the views from my window

"Reflections On Married Life..."

This looks like Me and Ed...

Yep, I'm living la vita Sesame Street. Last night after dinner and before I went back to work to put in hours 14 and 15, Ed was cleaning the kitchen and I got frustrated by how he was doing things so I just took over. He just wasn't doin' it right. Well, you know what they say, if you want it done right, you'll do it yourself...

BTW: I'm definitely Bert

"The Views From Home..."

The tulips are beautiful this year, I took these photos last week when they were at their peak.  Hard to believe Spring is passing so quickly, in just 7-10 days we'll be planting the Summer annuals. I'm already working on this year's Honey-do list. The new carpeting for the porch is in the garage waiting for a warm dry day for me to install it. And I've already refinishing the railings. The next project will be refinishing exterior doors and miscellaneous outdoor trim painting. Two weeks ago, I painted all the outdoor furniture and installed permanent electrical power to the gazebo, so the yard is shaping up well this year.

More to come soon from our home in the woods.

"The Views From Home..."

Husband took these photos on his evening stroll through our summer garden

Our home has been a 30+ year labor of love, first for me with the revenovation of the house and then when Husband arrived, the design and installation of our garden

Every week there's something new to behold in the perennial garden

Beautiful foliage set against crimson, scarlett and golden blossoms

This is the second fountain to reign over this little green expanse
My son Dustin and I installed this one as Husband's birthday present about 5 years ago

The sound of flowing water is very soothing and can be heard in every corner of the garden

The gazebo, our new al fresco dining spot came to the garden this summer

One of my favorite views of the garden at twilight
