"The Truth About The Things You Remember..."

In what now seems like a lifetime ago, when I was with Sears I used to listen to this song 3 or 4 times a day, 5 days a week. This was the on hold music the credit call center used. It was never a good sign when you were placed on hold... 9 out of 10 times the agent would come back on the line and say, "I'm sorry, we don't any options for your customer."

"The Truth About Love..."

In The Beginning...

It felt just like this

"I am always remembering...

And my greatest fear is that I may not live long enough to forget."

"The Truth About Me..."

Believe it or not, this was a dream
of mine once upon a time...

At thirteen I wanted to be a harpist, but given all the other ways I knew I was different, I could never find the courage to tell my parents of my interest in this and so it remained for me only one of the "dreams of men still young..."

"The Truth Of My Life In Songs..."

"I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free"
Written by: William Eugene Taylor & Richard Dallas

I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
I wish I could say all the things that I should say
Say 'em loud, say 'em clear
For the whole round world to hear

I wish I could share all the love that's in my heart
Remove all the bars that keep us apart
I wish you could know what it means to be me
Then you'd see and agree
That every man should be free

I wish I could give all I'm longing to give
I wish I could live like I'm longing to live
I wish I could do all the things that I can do
Though I'm way overdue, I'd be starting anew

Well, I wish I could be like a bird in the sky
How sweet it would be if I found I could fly
Oh, I'd soar to the sun and look down at the sea
And then I'd sing 'cause I'd know, yeah
Then I'd sing 'cause I'd know, yeah
Then I'd sing 'cause I'd know
I'd know how it feels
I'd know how it feels to be free, yeah, yeah
Oh, I'd know how it feels
Yes, I'd know, I'd know how it feels
How it feels to be free

"The Lyrical Truth..."

I've read more than a hundred books
Seeing love mentioned many thousand times
But despite all the places I've looked
It's still no clearer
I'm still no nearer
The meaning of love

"We're Living In The Age Of The Machines..."

AI takes us back to the 70's and worlds collide...

I've clearly entered the reminiscent phase of my life because lately I've found myself really enjoying the music of my youth which I really didn't much listen to when I was young. Soul Train was more of an annoyance to me on Saturday afternoons because it was the least offense choice on tv even though I didn't much care for dance shows. Now on YouTube there are lots of live performances from the likes of shows like Soul Train, American Bandstand, The Ed Sullivan Show, et al, and I'm enjoying them these days much more than I ever did at the time.

"The Dreams Of Men Still Young..."

In 2012, this was just a dream...

Don't ever forget how hard fought this battle was...

Those who would steal from us our rights and freedoms didn't succeed in 2025, but that hateful generation hasn't given up on turning back the hands of time... We must be ready to fight again in 2026 and until the last of the haters is gone from the Earth

"The Truth About Me In Songs..."

This song is about that phase of love's journey when you've gone through some struggles, maybe a few short breakups, but still find your way back to one another. I remember this time with the beloved one often. It felt just like this song...

For some worrying reason, thoughts of him and this time in our romance have flooded my mind and clouded my thoughts with overwhelming emotions that seem to foreshadow some unexpected change in the unseen cords that have bound my heart to his for nearly two decades.

For Stephen, if he wants it...

"The Truth Of My Life In Songs..."

Last night I laid awake well into the wee hours of this morning, tossing and turning, careful to avoid waking husband. Then around 3 am I remembered what today's date is and then I knew why I couldn't sleep. And I could hear this song echoing in my head...
