"The Poet's Corner..."

Love is the crown that glorifies; the curse
That brands and burdens; it is life and death.
It is the great law of the universe;
And nothing can exist without its breath.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Love wakes men, once a lifetime each;
They lift their heavy lids, and look;
And, lo, what one sweet page can teach
They read with joy, then shut the book.

"The Poet's Corner..."

There are many kinds of love, as many kinds of light,
And every kind of love makes a glory in the night.
There is love that stirs the heart, and love that gives it rest,
But the love that leads life upward is the noblest and the best.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Surprised By Joy

William Wordsworth

Surprised by joy—impatient as the Wind
I turned to share the transport—Oh! with whom
But Thee, deep buried in the silent tomb,
That spot which no vicissitude can find?
Love, faithful love, recalled thee to my mind—
But how could I forget thee? Through what power,
Even for the least division of an hour,
Have I been so beguiled as to be blind
To my most grievous loss?—That thought's return
Was the worst pang that sorrow ever bore,
Save one, one only, when I stood forlorn,
Knowing my heart's best treasure was no more;
That neither present time, nor years unborn
Could to my sight that heavenly face restore.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will some new pleasure prove
Of golden sands, and crystal brooks,
With silken lines, and silver hooks.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

Children of the future Age
Reading this indignant page,
Know that in a former time
Love! sweet Love! was thought a crime.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Mysterious love, uncertain treasure,
hast thou more of pain or pleasure!
Chill'd with tears, kill'd with fears,
endless torments dwell about thee:
yet who would live, and live without thee!

"The Poet's Corner..."

A golden light floods through the open field,
Where laughter rises softly in the air.
The heavy weight of secret longing healed,
They lose themselves within the meadow there.

They tumble down into the thickest green,
With open hearts and bright, untroubled eyes.
The sweetest peace that they have ever seen
Is mirrored in the wide, welcoming skies.

Hands find their place with easy, certain grace,
And smiles break through against a warm, flush cheek.
A vibrant, joyful, and complete embrace
That holds the very happiness they seek.

The grass sways low around their shared delight,
A sanctuary built on love and pride.
Their world is beautifully clear and bright,
With nowhere left to run, and naught to hide.

"The Things That Love Says..."

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach.

"The Poet's Corner..."

Sunday Morning

The morning sun spills warm and low,
Across the sheets where hours slow.
Two tangled forms in quiet grace,
Held safely in a soft embrace.

No rush to meet the rising day,
The outside world is miles away.
A quiet breath against a chest,
In love’s complete, untroubled rest.

Skin warmed by skin and Sunday light,
Erasing shadows from the night.
A gentle hand, a steady beat,
Where two aligned hearts fully meet.

The blanket holds the peaceful air,
Of silent trust and tender care.
Wrapped in the calm of where they are,
The sweetest home, the nearest star.

"I Am Always Remembering..."

We stood together beside her grave
My heart filled with both sorrow and pride
He met she who had given me life
And finally she met he who had made it seem worth living

I'll visit her yet again today
But he will not be there with me
Except he's always there and everywhere
He's lived in my heart ever since that day

Today there will be just sorrow
I'll remember the loss of both she and he
And as I lay the flowers I pray she can see
I'll remember the day he was there and held them for me

"I am always remembering...
And sometimes my greatest fear is that I may not live long enough to forget"

"The Poet's Corner..."

When He Comes Home To Me

No words are needed as they close the gap,
Just arms that pull the distance into none.
They lean together in the summer glow,
The world outside can hurry or go slow—
Inside this room, they have it, heart and all.
