Fred Melton & Wilbur Pippin, 1953
Photographed by George Platt Lynes
What I Like About This: Here is an image by George Platt Lynes, a noted commercial photographer of the first half of the 20th century who became more famous after his death in 1955 because of the collection of previously unreleased signature black &white contemporary homoerotic images he left behind. The image above, captured in 1953, is unapologetically one intended to reveal love, tenderness and affection between his subjects and in doing so, preserved for us a record and proof that "we were always there."
