I tend not to comment much on the news of the day, in-fact I try to avoid the news... And yet, I know how much evil, sickness and hatred pervades our society. The latest school shooting has again garnered the usual response from our elected official...
Sometimes, I really do wish we could be more like our fellow English speaking cousins:
The United Kingdom - Strict gun control laws enacted in 1997. Handgun ownership outlawed, following the Dunblane School Massacre in 1996
Australia - Strict gun control laws enacted 1996. More than 1 million weapons surrendered and destroyed, following the Port Arthur massacre that same year.
Canada - Already strict laws tightened in 2020 with outright ban of military-style weapons and high capacity magazines following mass killing in Nova Scotia. October 21, 2022 (yes, 5 days ago), Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces total hand gun sales ban and government surrender and buy-back program pending further legislative action.
The rest of the world... Other Countries Had Mass Shootings. Then They Changed Their Gun Laws. - The New York Times
America's response to mass gun violence:
So the next time some idiot tells me about his 2nd Amendment rights:
It's time to repeal this insanity...
