"The Imitation Of Life..."

What I Like About This: These stills are a scene from the "controversial" and critically acclaimed 2017 South African film "The Wound" directed by John Trengove.  This Academy Award nominated film was protested and the producers, theaters and performers all faced violence, intimidation and even death threats for daring to portray the truth that homosexuality exists in every human population and that it is not (as is often preached in African Christianity) a construct of Western cultural decadence.  The story tells the tale of three gay men from a modern day tribal community of Africa who must confront secret truths and stereotypes of what it means to be a man.  You can read more about the film here: Wikipedia and on its website.
