"Proud"
Pastel on board
Gwenneth Barth-White
What I Like About This: People of color as the subject of portraiture is fairly rare, especially from artist who are not also. I like his expression, I know why the artist chose her title of "Proud," he looks it. His face, like mine is revealing the passage of time with wrinkle-lines and grey whiskers, and yet he stands still strong and proud and ruggedly handsome facing whatever may still be to come in the journey of life.
