What I Like About This: Here is a handsome young sailor posing for an arcade photo sometime after the war in the late 1940s. As we observe him, perhaps we ask ourselves, "Who did he take this photo for and who cherished it and preserved it for a lifetime that it survived to our day?" I see all the clues that tell me this was for a beloved, but was it for a fellow shipmate or some sweet girl back home? We can't know, but we can imagine that whomever it was, they were as taken with him as we are... And perhaps a romance and love affair that lasted a lifetime came after this. What we do know is that "we were always there," and maybe he brought a smile to one of our faces a lifetime ago.
