What I Like About This: I find this to be an intriguing and wonderfully executed impressionist figurative painting.  What I especially like is the attention to detail in the subject's face. The artist's ability to capture the ethnology of a black person's features without resorting to stereotypical depiction is impressive. The bold brush strokes and the interplay between detail and obscurity in the artist's technique adds interest and appeal to this work as well.
