"The Imitation Of Life..."

Yesterday, whilst cleaning and doing laundry and between cooking lunch and dinner, I took a break for some me-time and I discovered a gem of a film from Germany.  I really loved it, so much so, I then bought it so that I can watch it again whenever I want.

"Where are you going, Habibi?" (2016) is a bittersweet romantic dramedy that deals with complex issues around coming out, family rejection, love, and even racism. And despite such heavy topics to include in one film, the director Tor Iben and principle actors Cem Alkan and Martin Walde all managed to pull it off with skill and aplomb.  I won't give away the entire story, but there's something for everyone in this lovely film.
