This TV series was one of my favorites from the mid 2000s. Not only because it included us in all of our complicated humanity, but also because you found yourself empathizing with every character, gay or hetero, "good" or "evil." If you've never seen it, this binge-worthy series will leave you on the edge of your seat with every episode. It's filled with shockingly believable scenes of evil, violence and hatred as well as remarkably beautiful moments of love, passion and grace. In short, it illustrates the human condition in all of its confusing juxtapositions. Of note, the series is renowned for one of the most realistic and passionate gay sex scenes on television up to that time (link is NSFW).
