Back in the day, cars didn't always have radios, and if a radio was standard, it was typically only AM. My first car was a 1973 Chevrolet Impala with only an AM radio. The first thing I did when I got it was to install an under dash 8-Track player from Radio Shack (you probably don't know what that store is either, although it was still around up until a few years ago).
