What I Like About This: These types of staged studio poses were quite popular in the early 1900s. I imagine this pose might have been chosen by these two as it gave them an excuse to be in such intimate quarters with one another. And so I think these young men are a couple. Unlike in many of these poses from that era, they are not feigning anger and horror, but instead their faces are placid and loving... Take away the prop dagger and you could even call their pose passionate. Yes, we were always there.
