This gay serie is from book(s) written by a Canadian writer Ms Ried, and aslo a Canadian production too. In Canada we are for decades accepting LGBTQ people in every day of our lives and putting this in a so macho Canadian sport like hockey is another step to make gay lives mainstream. I'm a 75yo gay man from Montréal and did my coming out in 1999 after divorcing my wife of 22 years of mariage. NEVER did I had issue to show that I was gay, not even in my Catholic private high school were I was teaching fine arts for 20years. The LGBTQ situation is not good in some USA's states, mostly red states and worse since 47 TACO felon is in place. Seeing those applauses on the Golden Globe was nice but this audience is the cream of cultural people in USA that are and were always accepting LGBTQ in their ranks.
