Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today is a holiday to celebrate one of America's greatest sons, and the terrible truth is that many don't even know what he did to earn this honor. And, the unbearable truth is that there are many, including he who is most powerful amongst us at this moment in time, who would deny the truth that his struggle and sacrifice on behalf of us all, including the as yet unborn generations to come for so long as this earth shall remain, who are and will forever be better off because one great man walked among us and dared to fearlessly call us to remember to live the founding principles of our great republic:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,"

Here in his own words, I offer you the opportunity to hear what he wanted us to remember about him:
He gave us the full and last measure of love that any man can give for his fellow man on April 4, 1968, but still he speaks to us from the great beyond... And he's telling us that evil, hatred and tyranny are not new to the American experience and yet he'd remind us that:
"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice"
This too shall pass...
