That's Husband surveying the gardens
The street view of our home
This is an upstairs patio just off my office that overlooks the garden
The new gazebo is this year's addition to the back garden
Husband really likes it.
Yep, pink flamingos... they're enameled metal sculptures
Best garden idea I ever had was twenty years ago when I decided to hang an illuminated painting on this wall above the bench...
I love to look out the windows at night and see the lovely light it casts over the area
The arborvitae hedge is newly installed so that we don't have to see the neighbor's yard, which looks terrible
This is one of my other favorite seating areas in our garden, this area is below the Florida room windows and overlooks the fountain which is down what I call the "parkway" alongside Husband's perennial garden
After all the heat over the last month, yesterday was a beautiful day, 69 degrees and sunny... Husband and I spent the evening together in the garden enjoying the fruits of our labors
Watch for more from the gardens at our home in the woods* this fall
*"Our Home in the Woods" is an homage to my mother's birthplace of Itta Bena, Mississippi whose place name in the Choctaw language means "Home in the woods. It's also a play on the name of our subdivision, Russell Woods, which at the time it was developed (1920-1950) was filled with shady tree lined streets. Dutch Elm disease took a huge toll on the neighborhood's tree stock in the 1970's but many of the replacement trees planted in the 1980s are now mature and have restored the arboreal look of the area.
Very beautiful house and garden.
