What I Like About This: You can make no mistake about this photo... What you see here is an image of two sailors in love. The look of bliss on both of their faces, and the loving embrace of hands and arms speaks to the truth of the love and affection for one another. And so we might rightly ask, who took this photo of these lovers who dared to allow their moment of love's joy to be captured at a time when this photo falling under the wrong eyes could guarantee ruin, prison, or even death. It must have been a very trusted friend behind the camera lens, very likely another same gender loving sailor and shipmate. We know their names and that it was likely a close friend who took this photo and later cherished it because this image of love is from an intact page of an album where our lover's friend recorded their names.
