It's so hard to be black in America. From the racist disenfranchisement of black legislators in Tennessee to Texas governor Greg Abbott promising to overturn the rightful conviction of a cold blooded racist murderer less than 24 hours after a jury of his peers in gun-crazed, stand-your-ground, Texas said he was guilty. It's never been clearer that a powerful majority minority in America has no intention of righting her wrongs against her black sons and daughters. The burden of accepting the reality of "now" is sometimes so overwhelming that I can understand why since 2017, suicide rates in Black males 10-19 years-old have increased by 60%.
Sorry to bring such a down note to the blog on a day that's supposed to be happy, but I made the mistake of reading the news this week and I need to vent somewhere.
