"A Thought to Ponder..."

This  video from the UK has become a viral phenomenon by expressing the feelings that many of today's workers are experiencing.

Once upon a time, I felt that unions had outlived their usefulness.  Afterall, the worker rights and protections that they had fought for and won have now been codified in the law.  But I've observed those rights and protections being eroded and repealed in the last decade or so and I've slowly come to realize that unions and the social activism that they advocate for are still very much needed today.

On this Labor Day, the holiday that we set aside to celebrate the contributions of the workers of the nation, perhaps it's time to re-examine the need for collective bargaining and worker's rights.
