Gay bullying is not funny, but this scene from 21 Jumpstreet was and it did more to teach kids the truth about irrational homophobia than all the PSAs that aired that year...
That scene showed a huge problem with the country. People are always yelling about being a victim. The boy in the video didn't get punched because he was gay but that's the card he is playing. If he didn't yell about being assaulted for being gay then he would have cried about racial profiling. You got hit because the other guy was a jerk, end of story.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't have published this dribble, but I thought I would today in order to make a point... Does this fellow (internet troll) think this is real!
And moreover, does he think that if it was real, then it's okay to beat on someone because you're a jerk.
My whole point in posting this funny series of gifs from a film that was exceptionally gay-friendly is this - In 2013 it's okay to speak out about irrational homophobia and bullying (perceived and/or real, intentional or not). And I feel that showing that in this film, in a comical and paradoxical way was more powerful as a means of teaching today's youth that truth than any principal's assembly period lecture.
Obviously, this guy has never been a victim for no reason like the color of his skin, or because the person he chooses to love happens to be of the same gender.
I'm always amazed at the number of "Christian" homophobes that want to leave stupid comments on blogs like this with a clearly gay agenda...
If we gays are so evil, why are you so attracted to these blogs and why do you feel compelled to comment so often. Before commenting again, maybe you should ask yourself why you spend so much time looking at gay-oriented websites and blogs. The truth might surprise you!
