"The Poet's Corner..."

Rosa Mundi
Arthur Symons (1865-1945)

An angel of pale desire
Whispered me in the ear
(Ah me, the white-rose mesh
Of the flower-soft, rose-white flesh!)
"Love, they say, is a fire:
Lo, the soft love that is here!

"Love, they say, is a pain
Infinite as the soul,
Ever a longing to be
Love's, to infinity,
Ever a longing in vain
After a vanishing goal.

"Lo, the soft joy that I give
Here in the garden of earth;
Come where the rose-tree grows;
Thine is the garden's rose,
Pluck thou, eat, and live
In ease, in indolent mirth."

Then I saw that the rose was fair,
And the mystical rose afar,
A glimmering shadow of light,
Paled to a star in the night;
And the angel whispered "Beware,
Love is a wandering star.

"Love is a raging fire,
Choose thou content instead;
Thou, the child of dust,
Choose thou a delicate Lust."
"Thou hast chosen!" I said
To the angel of pale desire.

"It's True, Lovers Do Start To Look Alike..."

Amongst gay couples, it's often referred to as "A Boyfriend Twin"

"While you may be familiar with the old saying, “opposites attract,” in reality, what the heart wants is someone who resembles its owner and that resemblance increases the longer two lovebirds stay together.

University of Michigan psychologist Robert Zajonc conducted an experiment to test this phenomenon. He analyzed photographs of couples taken when they were newlyweds and photographs of the same couples taken 25 years later.

The results showed that the couples had grown to look more like each other over time. And, the happier that the couple said they were, the more likely they were to have increased in their physical similarity."

"The Truth About Love..."

What a strange world it is where you can have as much sex as you like but love is taboo. I'm talking about the real thing, the grand passion, which may not allow affection or convenience or happiness. The truth is that love smashes into your life like an ice floe, and even if your heart is built like the Titanic you go down. That's the size of it, the immensity of it. It's not proper, it's not clean, it's not containable.

Sadly, this beautiful family has endured so much hatred after appearing in the 60 commercial from which this photo is excerpted that they will not be appearing further in the company's television adverts.
