"The Poet's Corner..."

Sunday Morning

The morning sun spills warm and low,
Across the sheets where hours slow.
Two tangled forms in quiet grace,
Held safely in a soft embrace.

No rush to meet the rising day,
The outside world is miles away.
A quiet breath against a chest,
In love’s complete, untroubled rest.

Skin warmed by skin and Sunday light,
Erasing shadows from the night.
A gentle hand, a steady beat,
Where two aligned hearts fully meet.

The blanket holds the peaceful air,
Of silent trust and tender care.
Wrapped in the calm of where they are,
The sweetest home, the nearest star.
