Husband has been retired for almost a decade now while I still soldier on in a challenging remote job that keeps me planted in my office for 10-15 hours a day. Husband spends his time enjoying our garden and crafting. He made these vintage-looking Halloween decorations from decoupage... who knew tissue paper and glue could become something so cute..?!
Husband likes Halloween, me not so much. So this year, I was glad he kept it low key. This is our haunted front porch. You can see some of my own summer handy work above... I refinished the porch railings in Hershey Bar Brown and I replaced the 20 year old carpeting.
We had a glorious Summer garden this year, but the bed annuals are just about done, we've had a few frosty nights already. The pots have been planted for Autumn since early September. I have to admit, lettuces, cabbages and kale are really quite pretty when punctuated with vibrant mums.
Husband carved the Jack O' Lanterns a couple of days ago and you can tell he's an artist. The few kids that did come by for "Trick or Treat" last night loved them.
Husband smuggled in the big skeleton... Not really to my taste but he didn't put it out there until Thursday and he'll be coming down today, so okay.
So now it's on to Winter and decorating home for the Festive season!
So, you clicked it...
Here's your Easter Egg, a rare photo of me:
Nope, I'm not in the tropics... This was taken by husband when we were on a garden tour right here in Michigan and I'm standing next to a grove of 20-foot tall banana trees! Don't worry, I'm working on that old man belly, I'm down 42 pounds so far.
