Here's a blast from the past, 1982's "Making Love" This film nearly ended Harry Hamlin's career and did-in-fact end Michael Ontkean's meteoric rise to stardom on the big screen. Nevertheless, this was one of only a few films of the era just before the scourge of HIV/AIDS, to portrayed the struggles of gay men in a sympathetic light. I remember being mesmerized by this story as a young man and this was one of the films that helped to convince me that love between two men could be real.
