I've often thought that much of my life could be set to music... And if so, this would be one of the songs on the soundtrack of my life...

This track would play in the scene from my life I'd call: "The Awakening..." 

In 2004, I turned 40 years old and I realized that the time for reckoning with the truth of my heart had come... Although I had fallen in love many times, I had never been brave enough to embrace the truth that I was gay and my love would, should and could be for a man.  But after my mother died, I realized just how alone I was in the world and I decided that the time had come to seek for the one who might own my heart...

I first heard this song when I was nine years old and I knew then that it described what I hoped I'd find someday.  I quite shockingly sang this song in a fifth grade talent show and I've never forgotten the dismayed looks on the adults faces as I sang these lyrics.
