We Were Rich
Mark Wilkinson
Well it's funny how, a memory
Can leave you breathless and on your knees sometimes
And it's funny how, a memory
Can take your heart and turn it all around
Like you and me in the night baby
Summer breeze and the white moon
Our tinsel blanket full
Feet drop soft in the sand darling
Rough and soft in my hands darling
My memory oh so true
And we were rich that night
Spending all our time
Well it's funny how, the mind replays
The things we miss to feel that bliss somehow
And though it lies in the time gone by
The feeling stayed so close inside somehow
Like you and me by the fireside
Slow dancing and cheap wine
Your lips so soft and full
Scattered sounds from the night life
Bleeding into your green eyes
My memory oh so true
And we were rich that night
Spending all our time
And we were happy fools
Making all the rules
And we were glowing lights
Drifting through the night
Well it's funny how, a memory
Can leave you breathless and on your knees sometimes
This one's for him, if he wants it...
