"The Imitation Of Life..."

Blackbird - 2014 drama film directed by Patrik-Ian Polk[1][2] and starring Julian Walker, Kevin Allesee, Torrey Laamar, Mo'Nique and Isaiah Washington. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Larry Duplechan.  It is the story of a gay teen in high school in a small baptist town in Mississippi, struggling between his religion and his sexuality. To make matters worse, his younger sister has been missing for years and it's tearing his family apart.

This is undoubtedly the best black, gay
coming of age/coming out film I've ever seen...

Also available on Netflix

"Fear Eats the Soul"
