The ABC Family series broadcast a kiss between two 13-year-old characters named Jude and Connor, which may qualify as the youngest same-sex kiss to ever air on U.S. television. The show, which follows the story of a lesbian couple's lives with their children, previously received an award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2014 GLAAD Awards.
Executive Producer and show creator Peter Paige took to Twitter to confirm the historical significance of the kiss.

According to The Backlot, the storyline between these two characters previously revolved around their budding friendship. However, fans quickly utilized the hashtag #Jonnor to vocalize their support for the pair becoming a couple.
