Former Puerto Rico Republican Senator, Roberto Arango 

Arango resigned after a Grindr profile scandal with revealing photos of the lawmaker.

At the time of the scandal in 2011, Arango claimed that the profile was part of a sinister political attack by his opponents despite the provocative nature of the 'selfie' photos.  Arango had previously been staunchly conservative and boasted of his anti-gay voting record including proposing an anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment that failed to pass.

I can pretty easily forgive Roberto for his actions when he was in office, hopefully his fellow gay Puerto Ricans can as well.  I can understand the very real fears that must have clouded his judgement and compromised his conscience. The closet and the fear that keeps people there is a very evil place that harbors many demons that can convince you to be among the most hateful of homophobes, even when you yourself are the thing you're convinced you have to rail against.
