"Wednesday Afternoon At The Movies..."

"Partners" - Here from 1982, a then daring and farsical twist on the cop/buddy genre.  Ryan Oneal and Jon Hurt portray police partners (one a hyper hetero and one a closeted gay) who are teamed up and sent undercover to live as a gay couple in the gayborhood to investigate a seriel killer targeting gays.

I actually really enjoyed this film when it was released and I have watched it many times since.  Unique for it's day (begining of the HIV/AIDS crisis), and although this film portrayed gays very stereotypically, it also showed us to be human, caring and loving people as well.  Overall, a very entertaining and engaging film which was ahead it's time.
