"This Made Me Smile..."

It's August 1964 (I was 2 months old), and the President of the United States, the leader of the free world needs pants... And so what's a president to do, but get on the phone and order them himself (can't imagine Obama doing this, but then again...)

The content of the call is not all that interesting — the President needs new pants, basically — but it is a rare glimpse into the personality of a president.  LBJ was, let’s say, informal and to the point, using terms such as “bunghole,” referring to his “crotch” as “down where your nuts hang,” and at one point, audibly burping into the phone.

It's a laugh riot as you listen to Joe Haggar (yes, that Joe Haggar of Haggar Apparel) take the order... You can hear the stunned pride and shock in his voice as he respectfully notes all the President's "specifications."
