Christian Haren - "The Marlboro Man"
February 1, 1935 – February 27, 1996
Most people didn't know that Christian was an openly gay man...
He portrayed the "Marlboro Man" in print ads throughout the 1960s. He was an actor, model and community activist and the proprietor of a popular gay bar in Palm Springs, CA.
He died of complications from HIV/AIDS in 1996 at age 61.
