"The Truth About Who We Are..."

Destin in his own words: "(The gay community in Phnom Penh) is secret. But it is much better now because of social networks. Some (gay men) feel not so sure, but it's much better than before. But it is still secret because they are afraid of parents or family.

(I knew I was gay) a long time. In my social life, for about ten years. For me, I feel I am ok. I'm 50/50. 50/50 means I don't care about people talking about I'm gay or whatever, I know myself and whatever I like is whatever I want. But I don't show off to my parents as well.

For me, I don't require much. I like people who I like. The best things that I like are appearance or characteristics, morality as well, I don't want to be with gangsters, it is not my type. Simple for me and easy going (is best).

(With regards to successes) I think my tailor business is going well because it is the fifth year. And now I have another business, it is a gay friendly coffee gallery. It is a new flavor in town, Strange Fruit, it is just opening but I hope it is going to be more and more successful.

(Advice to my younger self) Be good, be happy."

Positive images of people like me... The truth of the matter is that we all need to see people like ourselves. So everyday, I'll post a photo, drawing or some other artwork that depicts Same Gender Loving People as what we are... Only Human.

"Sometimes In Advertising..."

IKEA, who is no stranger to supporting equality through their advertising will be selling a rainbow emblazoned version of their famous shopping tote here in the U.S. during the month of June with all profits benefiting the HRC.

IKEA’s diversity and inclusion manager Rafael Fantauzzi said:
At IKEA, our culture is centered on the value of togetherness. We believe equality is a fundamental human right and that all homes are created equal. We know everyone deserves a home you absolutely love and a workplace where you can be yourself. To further show our commitment to equality and LGBT+ inclusion, on June 1, our co-workers will hoist the Pride Rainbow flag at all IKEA locations.

"Congratulations Taiwan..."

Last week, Taiwan became the first Asian nation to institute full marriage equality...

Scenes of love and celebration have broken out across Taiwan after more than 300 couples made history by tying the knot in the first legal same-sex marriages ever to happen in Asia. Taiwan’s parliament passed a bill last week that legalized same-sex marriage—the first legislature in Asia to do so. Reuters reports at least 360 same-sex couples married Friday. Rainbow flags were draped over registration offices where the couples queued up en masse to be part of the social revolution. “I feel very lucky that I can say this out loud to everyone: I am gay and I am getting married,” said Shane Lin, 31, who was one of the first to make it official at a Taipei office. “I am extremely proud of my country Taiwan,” he added in tears. Chi Chia-wei, a leading gay-rights activist, said: “I hope Taiwan’s democracy and human rights could have a ripple effect on other countries in Asia.”
