"We Were Always There..."

Until the advent of Polaroid instant photography, the photo booth was one of the only places where gay couples could take photos like this. In the past, film developers would often destroy film sent for processing which contained images of same gender loving people expressing affection for one another. In some communities film processors would even surrender such films to law enforcement.
