As a kid I loved Adam-12, so much so that I still marvel that I didn't choose policing as a career. Every so often I watch a few episodes and when I last did, it occurred to me that as a boy I was waiting for this to happen:
I always had my suspicions about "confirmed bachelor" Senior Police Officer, Pete Malloy (Martin Milner). And while his junior partner Jim Reed (Kent McCord) was as straight as an arrow, their chemistry suggested they could've become more than friends. It guess that speaks to the desire to see oneself portrayed in the media you consume.
It's funny the things that wander through your mind as you grow older and look back on what you sometimes remember. It was more than 50 years ago that I first watched this television show and I can remember so many times at various points in my life that I watched it in reruns, on video tape, DVDs and now streaming, remembering everything that was about happen from watching it in its first run on NBC.
I Am Always Remembering...
and sometimes it's a pleasant journey down memory lane.
