This morning marked 79 years since the Japanese attack on U.S. Forces at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which led to the United States entering World War II in 1941.
Above, a photo of the battleship, U.S.S. Arizona as she sinks after exploding from a direct hit on her magazines, taking with her, the lives of 1,177 crewmen. She remains partly exposed on the bottom of the harbor, a watery tomb for more than 900 of her crew who were never recovered and remain within her mangled but heavily armored shell.

Music by Daniel Butterfield
Lyrics by various authors
Day is done, Gone the sun,
From the lake, From the hill,
From the sky.
All is well, Safely rest,
God is nigh.
Thanks and praise, For our days,
Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.
Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.
Go to sleep, Peaceful sleep,
May the Soldier or Sailor,
God keep.
On the land or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night, Must thou go,
When the day, And the night
Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all
To their rest
