I loved this ad... Kmart is a hometown company for me, athough it's now part of Illinois based Sears Holdings. Kmart more or less created the "discount department store" retail segment in 1962. It grew out of the Detroit based dime store chain, S.S. Kresge. I've often shopped at Kmart store No. 1 (below) which is still open in the Detroit suburb of Garden City.
