Sergio Miranda and Rodrigo Borda were the 1st couple married* on August 22nd, the first day
of marriage equality under the new laws adopted by Uruguay.
Uruguay is now the twelfth nation to adopt marriage equality
* Another couple was granted a special waiver to marry in a Montevideo hospital on August 5th due to one of the partners being gravely ill.
Congratulations Uruguay!
