"The Poet's Corner..."

Dream Kiss
By Betty L. Killebrew

I feel the kiss upon my lips
As warm and real and true
As if I really had been kissed,
Instead of dreamed of you.

This kiss that never happened
Sends shivers to my knees
And blows away my heartache
As if by gentle breeze.

It’s over in a moment,
But then you hold me there
With both your arms around me
And your breath upon my hair;

And there we stay for eons—
An eternity of time–
In which we are together
And I am yours and you are mine;

And though it never happened,
And never may be true,
I’ve dreamed a perfect memory
Of being kissed by you.
