"Supporters of Same Gender Loving People"

Although he gave his life in the struggle for freedom and equality for all 41 years ago today*, MLK, Jr. was a supporter of Same Gender Loving People... His most influencial counselor and friend Bayard Rustin, Chief Organizer of the 1963 March on Washington was an openly gay man. King's widow Coretta said publicly that she believed her husband would have supported gay rights.

"I've Been to the Mountaintop"
Speech given April 3, 1968

"In this brilliant homily, Dr. King seems to foreshadow his own assassination. What strikes me most is the way that the truth, “true love drives out all fear,” is evident in both his voice and word. Because he loves God and his fellow man and knows that God loves him, he is confident that even though his flesh may be harmed he need not fear for his soul will rest safely with the Almighty."

* Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18 KJV
